We study the intrinsic dynamics of ecohydrological systems and develop novel approaches to characterize water resources and environmental hazards in river basins.
We also investigate solutes and sediment fluxes through river basins and the role of ecohydrologic regimes as drivers of natural and anthropogenic phenomena, such as floods, the production of energy by means of hydropower plants and their environmental effects.
A common goal links all our research lines: understanding and quantifying how the intrinsic variability of ecohydrological systems mediates impacts of global change on watersheds, the effects of adaptation measures and the resulting risks for humans.
